Being an
educator is not an easy profession, it comes with a great responsibility which
is the life of every student that we will handle. “Not many of you should
become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be
judged more” (James 3:1). As an educator we should be careful in everything
that we do, or say because we are the role model of the society, especially our
students, everything we do will have an effect to our student, we either make
or break a student. If teaching is not our passion, then it is not for us. It
is more than teaching the knowledge, skills and attitude, but to teach life to
our future generation. To see life transformed is the true fulfillment of an
educator like me.
Being in the
Technical Vocational School for almost nine (9) years, I observed that every
student has a unique ability, talent and personality that we should treat and
teach them differently according to their uniqueness. Every child has its own
passion, many of them excel in the technical subject, but few of them excel in
the academic subject. Because in the technical subject they learn it by experience.
We should
teach our student, what they want to learn, following their passion and help
them to nourish their hidden talent, we will help them to become more
successful because they love want we want us to teach them and they love what
they are doing. It is also equally important to teach our students to become
God fearing, with their passion and a God fearing attitude, surely they will
hit their mark.
Student who
is God Fearing, Students must understand their own personality, talents and
ability, so that they can enhance and improve it. Knowing oneself is better
than knowing others.
As a teacher
we need to know our student uniqueness (intelligence, personality, love
language, etc.), so that we can approach and teach them according to their
uniqueness in order for the learning process to become successful. A
hands-on-minds-on-hearts-on training is also an effective learning process,
students will have a deeper understanding of the lesson if they learn it
through actual experience.
I am a teacher with a mission to transform the life of my
student for the better and for the glory of God, by teaching them intentionally
the right knowledge, skills and attitudes, by helping them to follow their passion,
by the help and guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ, all for the glory of God.
